Angel Olsen
Angel Olsen hails from St. Louis Missouri, but is now residing at Asheville North Carolina. Olsen is the author of six albums including: Big Time Burn Your fire for No Witness My Lady all Mirrors Half Way Home. Olsen is a phenomenal person to care for kids. [on her parents, who adopted her when she was three and took care of her right from her birth] Because there's so many years in between us, I was more curious about how their lives were during childhood. I was awestruck to experience the life of a young person in those years. Personal life. On April 16 2021 Olsen made public her gay identity. Olsen revealed in 2022 that Adele Thibodeaux was no longer her partner and that they had split up. She also revealed that Meg Duffy had been a very close friend of hers and that they had been together for a few months prior to 2020. Olsen publically announced that she had come out as gay early 2021. Olsen grew up living in St. Louis Missouri and started singing in cafes in her teens. Soon she tapped into a large network of similar performers. Olsen moved into Chicago in 2006 and began working alongside California artist Emmett Kelly in the group known as the Cairo Gang. All Mirrors, her previous album from 2019, featured dark gothic-synth rock and moving forays in orchestral pop. Big Time is the first album where Olsen sings with a conscious view of her queer desire. She turns to country, a traditionally-bound style. This makes sense.
